CLASS OF 1982 Code Name: SNAKE EYES

The man, the myth, the legend - SNAKE EYES! Hands down, THE most popular character in the G.I. Joe universe. There will always be the never-ending debate of which Snake Eyes is best: Commando Snake Eyes or Ninja Snake Eyes. It seems older fans (like ME!) prefer Commando Snake Eyes (with just a hint of Ninja). While younger fans like the full-on Ninja Snake Eyes. It may also have to do with which version was your first Snake Eyes action figure.

It should come as no surprise that I prefer Commando Snake Eyes. However, I'm not a fan of the all-black uniform, although the "Johnny Cash" line from Retaliation was great! There was a Marvel Comic (Issue 13, I think) that shows Hawk with a black shirt and camo pants. I loved this look, and always thought it would make for a great variation of Snake Eyes (Beach Head v. 13 also has this look). So, I painted Snake Eyes' pants camouflage based upon the stand 1980s camo pattern.

In my Joeverse, I see Snake Eyes as more laid back (hopefully one day I'll get around to making my G.I. Joe Photonovel series); maybe even sort of cut up - like a mute Deadpool.  However, I also think that a character like Snake Eyes would communicate more with team members through Sign Language, which in my Joeverse is what establishes his relationship with Scarlett being that she's the only member on the team that knows ASL.

Like with some other O13 members, in my Joeverse, I've bumped Snake Eyes up in rank to a Staff Sergeant as he seems to be more in charge as a squad leader. I've got a custom Snake Eyes head that I've made which shows his eyes (with scarring) that I'll probably swap out on this custom.

Due to a SNAFU with the blog, some of the original pictures were lost and had to be copied from another site, which explains the smaller sizes. I've tried to enlarge and brighten the pictures from some of my original blog posts.
